Enjoy the beautiful colors of the fall foliage in dreamy Matsushima!
Arguably one of the most popular fall events in Miyagi Prefecture, Matsushima during peak viewing season is highly regarded as THE place to enjoy the most beautiful evening illuminations in all of Tohoku. Although the main attraction is the light up at the Entsuin Temple, there are a number of spots located throughout the Matsushima Bay area to enjoy the gorgeous colors of the auburn tinted fall foliage. Honorable mentions include the Zuiganji Temple, the Godaido Temple and the Matsushima Rikyu.
Tickets for the Entsuin and Zuiganji temples are available for purchase starting October 15 at the Matsushima Kaigan Resthouse Infromation Center (松島海岸レストハウス内特設ブース) and the Matsushima Momiji An (松島もみじ庵).
