Try your hand at making Sendai themed Japanese Wagashi Sweets!
The “Deco Japanese Confectionery Making Experience” will be held on the 23rd of September and 1st of October, and is the perfect opportunity to experience making Japanese Wagashi Sweets in a traditional Japanese tatami venue!
This month’s creations feature Musubi Maru as well as symbols from Sendai, Miyagi, and the Tohoku region.
Unfortunately the event is only held in Japanese, however future events held in English are in the works so stay tuned!
The workshop will guide you in making wagashi inspired by Tanabata —one of the largest festivals in Sendai and the whole Tohoku region— as well as the Sendai and Miyagi’s adorable rice-ball-shaped Tourism PR character “Musubi Maru.” Take your works of art home with you to show off to frends and family and enjoy in the comfort of your own home!
