Hello, everyone! November’s Museum guide is here! Soon the leaf peeping season will be over and we will have to think about some other ways to reset our heads from studies and work. Let’s see what interesting events and exhibition can museums offer us this month.

This November is reach for events that challenge our fantasy. It is all about shapes, schemes, paper planes, whales and Stone age - great for kids with big dreams, no matter how actually old they are.

Sendai City Tomizawa Site Museum, or Chitei no Mori Museum, definitely one of the most unique museums in the whole world, is a place to visit in November. If you still haven’t seen the remains of a 10000 year old forrest preserved there, I strongly recommend it. And this month they have an exhibition on Paleolithic stone tools from Hokkaido and Tohoku, gradually offered by Tohoku University and Sendai Board of Education. A great possibility to learn something more about the life of our distant ancestors.

3M Sendai City Science Museum is offering an exhibition on paperlanes by Ninomiya Yasuaki, a famous Japanese paperplane designer. Yes, paperplanes are not only for kids. As I see it, there is little things that are more inspiring than making a paperplane and seeing it actually fly. If you find paperplanes inspiring, this one is for you!

And what about whales? Japan is a country with a deep connection with sea, blessed with many sea gifts, and the biggest and most desirable of these gifts is a whale. Whales were deified and adored, becoming the inspiration for art, festivals, folklore, and if you want to know more about the connection between Japanese culture and whales, you should find some time to visit Tohoku History Museum in Tagajo city!
