THE Event for Rifu Dwellers this Fall!

This major event held during the fall in Rifu features a wide variety sights and activities, including workshops and activity booths, stage events, and a fireworks display to close off the event at 18:30. This year, the highlight of the festival will undoubtedly be the Sakura Yabusame martial arts perfromance. This traditional archery event performed on horseback is unique to Towada, Aomori Prefecture. What makes it so special? Well, the participants are acutally women! In an iconic event typically held every spring with an incredible backdrop of cherry blossoms, the female knights gallop throughout the town as they demonstrate the art of shooting arrows on horseback.
